A new 3,700 m² office and laboratory building has been completed at the Babraham Research Campus in Cambridge. The facade reflects the building’s clear architectural language while creating a subtle connection to the campus’s extensive green spaces.
Around 900 m² of GFRC panels were used for the building envelope. The sandstone-coloured elements create a restrained, homogeneous facade and blend harmoniously into the surrounding landscape. The material also delivers strong functional qualities: at just 13 mm thick, the panels are non-combustible, durable and low-maintenance.
