The Loop System is a new accessory kit for the PL1 we'll be launching on Kickstarter. It's a lightweight solution for athletes who want the convenience and efficiency of a portable rope tow, but aren't willing sacrifice any degree of performance on the ride down. We're closely monitoring the US-Canada tariff situation. The PL1 Rope Ascender and PL1 Complete Package (HS Code: 8425.31.00) won't be impacted by the new 50% tariffs on Canadian goods but some of our Canadian made accessories, like rope (HS Code: 5607.50.40) will be. We may be forced to raise prices on impacted accessories on Aug 19th, 2026.
Shipments to the USA are shipped duty paid (DDP), so our US customers do not need to pay any duties or tariffs directly.

We're proud to be a Canadian company and now is an important time to support Canadian businesses. We will continue to use high quality Canadian components whenever feasible.

A fun late June day of testing with the PL1. We tend to do a lot of our field testing in the spring and summer when we're less busy fulfilling orders and building inventory. The snow might be harder to reach, but the novelty of summer skiing never wears off. This was a great location for testing with a nice variety of terrain. We're excited to get back out into the mountains soon to get more results.

People are often surprised by how much skiing you can do on a 1000' (305m) run once they see it, so hopefully this visual representation of one length of rope is helpful. Bringing more than one rope can create an even longer run, and can also be helpful when navigating more complicated terrain. This particular slope was great because it offered a variety of descents. We could ski the steeper face and cut back to the end of the rope, or get turns along the ridge that we ascended. What do you think? Would you bring a PL1 to ski laps on a slope like this? Do you have a 1000' zone you want to get laps on? Let us know in the comments!
